Quilting Demos & Make-and-Take
Location: Haan Museum, 920 E. State St., Lafayette
Join us for a morning filled with quilting demonstrations and make your very own yo-yo quilting pattern. Try English paper piecing, and learn about appliqué, hand quilting, crazy quilt embroidery, and Curt Hathaway’s re-creation of the Dear Jane and 1776 Hessian quilts.
Fee: Non-Members, $10; Members Free. Reservations are required as seating is limited.

EXHIBIT: Hoosier Quilts
Take a trip through time and see quilts from the 1800’s, including redwork, embroidered, grandmother’s flower garden, trapunto, and crazy quilts.
Move forward to the 1930’s, and you’ll see patterns such as feed sack, yo-yo, wedding ring, flower basket and tulip quilts, plus a “trip around the world” postage stamp quilt with over 9000 pieces. Contemporary and reproduction quilts include appliqué, Dear Jane, a reproduction of a 1776 Hession Soldier quilt, and a quilt made for Indiana’s Bicentennial.
There are quilts to fit beds, cribs, and doll beds as well as wall hangings, clothing and more.
