Thrill of Thrift Fashion Show

The Lafayette Adult Resource Academy (LARA) has been providing educational and career opportunities for students aged 16 and older for over four decades in our community. The Thrill of thrift Fashion Show will promote college and career readiness, allowing our students the chance to learn how to dress for success for less! LARA invites you to join us for a night of Fashion! We also invite you to consider becoming a sponsor of our of our Thrill of Thrift Fashion Show. All proceeds benefit our students. The primary source of funding for the thrill of Thrift Fashion Show is from corporate and individual sponsors like you. Contributions will go toward direct support of our students by providing scholarships, bus tokens, and instructional materials. Stepping On Program

From 10:00AM to 12:00PM

Stepping On is a program that has been researched and proven to reduce falls in older people. It consists of a workshop that meets for two hours a week for seven weeks. Workshops are led by a health professional and a peer leader—someone who, just like you, is concerned about falls. In addition, local guest experts provide information on exercise, vision, safety and medications. PEP Club (People Encouraging People) at First UMC

Palliative Care: What Is It? What Do I Need to Know About It? At 1:00pm, the PEP Club of FUMC will host Dr. Thomas Jones, Dir. of Palliative Care at IU Health Arnett & Dr. Cecilia May, Dir. of Palliative Care at St. Elizabeth Hospital. They will discuss the concept of palliative care, the difference between palliative care & hospice care, what it is, why it’s important to patients, & why you & I would want to consider this care for our self or a loved one. EXHIBIT: Hoosier Women Artists Exhibition

Artwork chosen for an exhibit at the Indiana Statehouse show the variety of talents of current Indiana women artists. They will be joined by a variety of 3-dimensional works by Hoosier women artists from the Haan Museum
