A collaborative exhibition featured at both the Haan Museum and the Art Museum of Greater Lafayette. Willis "Bing" Davis grew up in a neighborhood where there was a sense of community, where everyone knew who you were, and where great role models made a positive impact on the lives of its residents. While embracing his African-American heritage and culture, Davis creates thought provoking artwork that interweaves native patterns and fabrics and gives a new voice to found objects. Ceramic Ancestral Spirit Vases, masks, paintings and many other ceramic pieces showcase the talent and versatility of this prolific artist. I'm a student at the West Lafayette Jr High School. For my 7th grade Genius Hour Project, I chose to organize a community fundraising party for the cats of Almost Home Humane Society. The fundraiser will be on Sunday, March 26th at 2:00 pm at the West Lafayette Public Library. I hope the party will bring in supplies for the shelter, provide education in a fun environment, and raise funds. There will be guest speakers, treats, and door prizes.
